A 100-ton direct-fired (dfa) absorption/chiller is scheduled for installation at a 35,000 sq. ft. estate in Princeton, NJ. The unit will provide cooling, heating and hot water to the private residence. According to marketing manager Steve Cohen at Broad USA, nine boilers were eliminated from the project when the Broad dfa unit was chosen and integrated into the all glass, single story home that measures 450 ft. long.
Broad also anticipates delivery on a 330-ton chiller unit ordered by Cessna Aircraft Co. for its headquarters in Wichita, Kansas. The sale of a third chiller unit appears imminent. The chiller, which was exhibited on GCT'98 floor, piqued the interest of a customer with whom negotiations are still underway.
